Peter, the gay men I know don't really believe in monogamy anyway. The majority want all the benefits of an "open relationship" (promiscuity) but they want a legal "marriage" so they will have the benefits that brings. I'm sure there are exceptions, but they are few and far between in my experience. So, giving gays the right to marry doesn't solve "promiscuity" any more than it does for heterosexuals. It should, but it does not.

Hi, I was wondering if my blog could be listed on the sidebar. I am an active, believing Latter-day Saint, female, and married to a man. Feel free to peruse my blog to see if it fits your requirements.

My computer crashed for a year and I got away from this site. I have had friends on-line that were good examples of members who are faithful Latter Day Saints with Same Sex Attraction. Some of them are single and others married. I think it is good to know of successful marriages. I was reading something at Patheos that questioned the belief that a person needs to have sexual release saying that studying those who have given into temptation is not telling the full story. They were not speaking specifically of Same Sex Attraction, but it is important to consider. A shout out to L and Rex! Thank you both for being nice to me. Thank you for welcoming someone who does not have same sex attraction to this site and is single.

I find it troubling that Ron Schow and his associates are constantly speaking up to contradict General Authorities of the Lord's Church. Elder Hafen's talk was given with a very good understanding of what the homosexuality issues mean doctrinally as well as of how they affect people's lives. It was laid out very well, and people would do well to learn from it (and not make conclusions that were not made by Elder Hafen).

No time today to correct what Ron has said point by point, but please be aware that most of Ron's sharing of ideas is done among people who loudly question what the prophets have always taught. I was a bit surprised and shocked to see him try to take an active role in a North Star blog.

There are some substantial argumentative flaws in this post. What I love most is how Ellen conveniently doesn't argue back. This totally sounds like it could have been uttered by a politician. My favourite parts were when you didn't answer how gay marriage affects heterosexual marriage, and when you said that you're not denied marriage for being gay. Right, just for wanting a gay marriage. The distinction between the two is functionally non-existent.

Sorry, Doug. Hit Enter before I intended. Those anti-guys are such brats. They need a firm hand and they're too clever to argue with.

Wow. I really needed to hear this. My Antidoug has been wreaking havoc over the past couple of years. Problem is, I thought it was Doug, but now I know. Thanks for the enlightenment, Rex. Time for some training (or letting go, I guess)...
