Supportive fellowship and friendship with others who share your values and commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ is a valuable spiritual tool. Within North Star, we consider that sense of community and fellowship to be one of our key values. We like to provide ways to build such positive friendships and to create a community where individuals will find support in their efforts to live the gospel and support Church leaders while also reaching out in unconditional love and ministry to our loves ones who experience homosexual attraction, some of whom may also be in gay or lesbian relationships or estranged from the Church.
To help do this, there are a number of online forums and other events North Star sponsors that we hope can help you connect with others who share your values and can be a support to you in your efforts to live the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Online Resources
Private, Email-facilitated Discussion GroupsNorth Star sponsors a variety of discussion groups intended to provide a moderated forum in which you can post and read messages of support, compassion, and encouragement, as well as individual experiences of doubt, fear, hope, and joy. >> MORE ABOUT DISCUSSION GROUPS Select the following group to read the rules and expectations, and request to join. | ||
Private Facebook GroupIn an effort to bring our community together, even more, and to take advantage of social media resources, we have our own secret and completely private Facebook Group. While we have a variety of email discussion groups for different demographics within our community, we only have one Facebook group for the entire North Star community. Men, women, spouses, family members and friends are all in the same group together. Also, given the personal nature of Facebook and the amount of vulnerability involved, to join this group it is required that you use your real name, not use pseudonyms or nick names as is allowed in our Discussion Groups or Message Boards.
