About Janae

Janae is a joyful still-newly-wedded wife and busy mother of many children. An avid movie quoter and a huge fan of sushi, she prefers to look on the bright side of life. Her testimony is her most prized possession. Janae has come to know the Savior through the many trials and diverse challenges she and her family have faced. She says, "I have learned for myself that though I can't yet comprehend all things--I know God dearly loves all of his children." Through her journey with her son who experiences same-sex attraction, she has come to know the love of the Lord on a higher level than ever before.

Janae I too am trying to be Christ-ike. We are actually going through simular things. You with your son and me with my daughter. We can’t do anything but love them! I recently had the realization when a picture of Christ knocking at a door with no handle, no way to enter unless He was let in. Now mind you I thought I was being the person, the mother that I was suppose to be. Supportive, loving and as nnon-judgmental as I thought I could be. My realization the other day for myself has been this. I have opened the door, but instead of swinging it wide open and allowing Christ to just walk in and get comfortable in my life, I believe that my foot has been a block so that the door could only open to where I was comfortable.
You my friend are amazing! So grateful to have you as an inspiration in my life. God bless you and your family.

Thank you for sharing this. I have felt darkness and fear in the past when my amazing and loving son told me about his same sex attraction. As I let Christ guide me and fill me with light and love I connected with me son. When he said”How do you feel about me know?” I could honestly say “I love you”. How brave for him to share something so deep and praying he wouldn’t be rejected. Thank you.

  5. Thank you fo sharing your journey. So much hope for anyone who has a child who has left the path. Love is the answer.
